A pilgrim, Martha Washington, and a very long Halloween tradition.

Hello History Detective,
In second grade, I dressed up as a pilgrim for Halloween. In third grade, Martha Washington.
I was a history kid through and through. Any chance to dress as someone from another time, and I was ready. It runs in the family, too: starting at eight, my youngest son was a Union soldier every Halloween for years.
There's something wonderful about watching a child get excited about the past. They want to wear the clothes, hear the stories, and imagine themselves right in the middle of it all.
That's the feeling I wanted to capture in History Detective Club.
Only Rose doesn't get to take off her costume and go home when the evening is over. She has traveled from modern-day Williamsburg to 1774, and finding her way back will take more than knowing how history turns out.
If there's a history kid in your life, they can join Rose, Pearl, and Nathaniel for free:

P.S. Were you a history kid, or are you raising one? Hit reply and tell me your favorite historical costume. I'd love to hear.
7 year old pilgrim, Wendy. I had a black cat pin from Hallmark on my apron. My mom sewed my costume.
